Fifth Wheels: Body, Structural and Systems Repair Near Whittier
Fifth wheels carry the tallest front cap in the towable class, and that cap takes the weather first. Front cap and pin box work is most of what arrives. OCRV Center covers 3 distinct scopes inside this program, all performed in shop at the Yorba Linda facility. Owners across Whittier and Los Angeles County reach it on the I-605 and SR-72.

Published rate card
What this costs
Bands are the working range for this scope at OCRV Center, not a quote. Body and paint labor bills at $210 per hour and mechanical at $260. The exact figure comes from the priced evaluation, which is credited against an authorized repair.
Sidewall cross section
What the fifth wheels wall is actually made of
Every water and delamination decision on this vehicle comes back to the layer order in the sidewall. Outermost layer first:
- 01Gelcoat or filon
- 02Fiberglass skin
- 03Luan backer
- 04Block foam core
- 05Aluminum stud
- 06Interior liner
- Bond system
- Roller or vacuum laminated urethane adhesive, generally a thinner glue line than a Class A
- Moisture path
- Water enters at the front cap to sidewall seam and the upper deck transition, then runs behind the cap radius and surfaces in the bedroom floor or the front storage bay ceiling.
- Crossover point
- A released front cap radius is a cap replacement, not an injection. Flat sidewall under about 10 square feet still rebonds.
- Where this is evaluated
- In shop at the Yorba Linda facility. Moisture mapping is part of the priced evaluation and is credited against an authorized repair.
In shop process
How the job actually runs
- Step 01
Get the vehicle to Yorba Linda
Drive or tow the vehicle to 23281 La Palma Ave, Yorba Linda. Insurance walk ins are welcome and no appointment is needed to start a collision teardown.
- Step 02
Priced evaluation
Collision teardown is one hour at $210, an RV systems evaluation is $150, and an in depth diagnostic is one hour at $285. Every one of those is credited against an authorized repair, so the evaluation is not money you lose.
- Step 03
Scope and carrier
You get the scope in writing with rate card figures against it. If a carrier is involved the shop bills direct and handles supplements on line items the adjuster missed.
- Step 04
Authorize, then the deposit applies
Jobs over $2,000 take a 50 percent deposit at authorization, and jobs over $10,000 take a further 25 percent when parts land. OCRV Center orders nothing before you authorize it.
- Step 05
The work
Structural and moisture work closes out before any finish goes back on. A released front cap radius is a cap replacement, not an injection. Flat sidewall under about 10 square feet still rebonds.
- Step 06
Pickup
Final balance is due at pickup. Card payments over $1,000 carry a 3.5 percent surcharge, which passes through the merchant fee rather than burying it in the labor rate.
Common questions
What is included in the fifth wheels program at OCRV Center?
Fifth wheels carry the tallest front cap in the towable class, and that cap takes the weather first. Front cap and pin box work is most of what arrives. The program covers 3 scopes: luxury fifth wheel, toy hauler fifth wheel, half ton towable fifth wheel. All of it happens in shop.
How long does fifth wheels work usually take in Whittier?
Labor bands across this program run from a few hours to several hundred. Parts availability drives the calendar more than labor does, and special order parts require a full non refundable deposit at the time of order, so the schedule is set once parts are confirmed.
Where does fifth wheels repair stop and replacement start?
A released front cap radius is a cap replacement, not an injection. Flat sidewall under about 10 square feet still rebonds. That threshold is a structural judgment, not a preference, and it is made during the priced evaluation rather than after teardown has already been billed.

Scope boundary
What this shop does not take
No mobile service. Every job happens at the facility.
No roadside assistance and no on site evaluation.
No engine rebuild and no internal engine machining.
No transmission rebuild and no drivetrain overhaul.
No DOT inspection and no DOT certification.
No emission testing and no emission certification.
No telematics installation and no fleet software.
No fleet consulting and no driver training programs.
Everything above is work OCRV Center declines rather than work it performs poorly. The facility is a body, paint, structural and onboard systems shop, and it is an in shop operation.
Bring it in
