Every Vehicle This Shop Takes, and How Its Wall Is Built
OCRV Center repairs eight vehicle classes across 35 specific types, starting with Sprinter and camper van conversions. Each program publishes the sidewall layer stack, the bond system holding it together, where water gets in and the point where repair becomes replacement.
5 types
Sprinter and Camper Vans
Sprinter, Transit, ProMaster and Class B conversions. Vans lead our intake, and they are the one vehicle class where the body is the structure. Open the sprinter and camper vans program.
- Wall stack
- Painted steel skin, Body cavity void, Closed cell insulation, Furring strip, Wall panel or upholstery
- Bond system
- Mechanical fastening to the factory rib, with contact adhesive holding insulation and liner
- Crossover point
- Once corrosion has perforated the rocker or a structural rib, the section is cut and replaced. Filler over a perforated panel is not a repair.
4 types
Motorhomes
Class A gas and diesel, Class C and Super C. The largest bodies we take, and the ones where a cap replacement decision carries the most money. Open the motorhomes program.
- Wall stack
- Gelcoat, Fiberglass skin, Luan backer, Block foam core, Aluminum or steel stud, Interior liner
- Bond system
- Heat and pressure laminated urethane adhesive across the full panel face
- Crossover point
- Injection rebonding holds under roughly 12 square feet of released area with dry luan. Past that, or with the luan gone to pulp, the skin panel is replaced.
4 types
Campers
Truck campers, pop ups, teardrops and overland boxes. Small bodies, thin wall stacks, and failure modes that show up faster than on a coach. Open the campers program.
- Wall stack
- Aluminum or composite skin, Foil facing, Block foam core, Wood or aluminum frame, Thin luan liner
- Bond system
- Vacuum bonded panel adhesive on composite builds, mechanical fastening on stick built
- Crossover point
- On a wall this thin there is little to rebond. Once the core is wet, the panel section is replaced rather than injected.
3 types
Fifth Wheels
Fifth wheels carry the tallest front cap in the towable class, and that cap takes the weather first. Front cap and pin box work is most of what arrives. Open the fifth wheels program.
- Wall stack
- Gelcoat or filon, Fiberglass skin, Luan backer, Block foam core, Aluminum stud, Interior liner
- Bond system
- Roller or vacuum laminated urethane adhesive, generally a thinner glue line than a Class A
- Crossover point
- A released front cap radius is a cap replacement, not an injection. Flat sidewall under about 10 square feet still rebonds.

Trailers
Travel trailers, cargo, utility and horse trailers. Frame, axle, skin and floor work on everything that is towed rather than driven. Open the trailers program.
- Wall stack
- Aluminum sheet or filon, Bead of butyl at each seam, Fiberglass batt or block foam, Wood or aluminum stud, Luan or vinyl liner
- Bond system
- Mechanical fastening with butyl seam tape on stick and tin, laminated adhesive on filon builds
- Crossover point
- Rotted studs mean the wall opens. Skin alone can be replaced while the frame under it is still sound.
5 types
Commercial Trucks
Box, reefer, flatbed and service trucks. Body and cab work on the vehicles that lose money for every day they sit. Open the commercial trucks program.
- Wall stack
- FRP or aluminum panel, Structural post, Foam or balsa core on reefer bodies, Interior scuff liner
- Bond system
- Bonded FRP panel adhesive on dry vans, riveted post and panel on aluminum bodies
- Crossover point
- A delaminated reefer liner is replaced by the panel, not patched. Insulation value does not come back once the core is wet.
4 types
Fleet and Municipal
Multi unit fleets and municipal vehicles, scheduled so units cycle through in sequence rather than all sitting at once. In shop work only. Open the fleet and municipal program.
- Wall stack
- Painted steel or aluminum skin, Structural post or rib, Insulation where fitted, Interior liner or bare structure
- Bond system
- Mechanical fastening throughout, with bonded panel sections on newer composite bodies
- Crossover point
- Corroded structure is cut and replaced. Fleet bodies are repaired to a service life target, not to a cosmetic one.

Rivian and Specialty
Electric delivery vans, Rivian, and purpose built bodies. High voltage vehicles are handled with the pack isolated before any body work starts. Open the rivian and specialty program.
- Wall stack
- Composite or aluminum skin, Bonded structural frame, Insulation and harness raceway, Equipment mounting substrate
- Bond system
- Structural adhesive bonded frame with limited mechanical fastening, which changes every repair decision
- Crossover point
- Bonded structure is sectioned only where the manufacturer publishes a procedure. Where none exists, the assembly is replaced.
What needs doing to it
Every service program below takes every vehicle above. The bands differ by class, because access and wall construction differ by class.
- Collision and Structural
Impact damage that reached the frame, the cage or the cap. Insurance billed direct, teardown priced at one hour and credited against an authorized repair.
- Body Repair
Panel, skin and opening work on coaches, trailers and vans. Aluminum, fiberglass and composite sidewalls, plus every hole cut into them.
- Paint and Refinishing
Full coach refinishing and spot blending in a downdraft booth sized for a 45 foot body. Paint materials bill at $55 per paint hour.
- Fiberglass and Delamination
Laminated sidewall work. Where the bond between skin and core has released, how far it travelled, and the point where repair becomes panel replacement.
- Roof and Awning
The roof is the top of the wall stack, and almost every interior water stain starts there. Membrane, penetration and awning work in one program.
- Slide Out and Leveling
Slide rooms and leveling systems share a failure mode: the coach is no longer sitting the way the mechanism was set for. Both are handled together.
- Interior Remodel
Interior reconstruction, from a single water damaged panel through a full gut and rebuild of a coach that is otherwise structurally sound.
- Onboard Systems
Everything that runs when the coach is parked. Power, LP, climate, water and appliances, diagnosed in shop with the vehicle on shore power and a full tank.
- Scheduled Maintenance
Interval work that keeps a coach out of the collision bay. Seals, running gear and the seasonal service that Southern California storage still needs.
- Inspection and Evaluation
Find out what is actually wrong before authorizing anything. Every evaluation here is priced and credited against an authorized repair. In shop only.
Common questions
Why are camper vans listed before motorhomes here?
Because that is the intake this shop is built around. Sprinter, Transit and ProMaster conversions are the fastest growing side of the business, and a van is the one class where the body is the structure, so the repair decisions differ from a laminated coach in ways worth their own pages.
Does the sidewall construction actually change the repair?
It changes almost everything. A laminated fiberglass coach wall can be rebonded by injection under roughly twelve square feet. A steel van wall cannot be rebonded at all, it gets sectioned. Each vehicle program publishes its own layer stack, bond system, moisture path and crossover point.
What if my vehicle is not on this list?
Call the shop. The eight programs cover the great majority of what comes through, but purpose built and specialty bodies get evaluated on the same in shop basis. The scope boundary page is the honest answer on what gets declined.
Bring it in
Insurance walk ins are welcome. The teardown hour is priced at $210 and credited against an authorized repair, so the evaluation is not a cost you lose if the work proceeds.
